Does Selby post to the marketplaces for me?+
Selby writes, prices and polishes the listing, then copies the version written for each marketplace and opens that marketplace's posting page so you paste it in one tap. Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist and Nextdoor have no public listing API and ban automated posting; eBay's API needs a seller integration we do not ship yet. Bots get seller accounts banned, so Selby never posts on your behalf and never claims to. It does everything up to that tap, and everything after it.
What does the Free plan really include?+
The whole listing flow on all eight marketplaces, Photo Studio with on-device background removal, the buyer inbox and pickup scheduling. Selby-written listings are hosted for 5 a month on Free, or unlimited when you add your own free Google AI key in Settings (no billing setup, about 1,500 requests a day). Pro adds unlimited hosted AI, AI Studio re-shoots and Selby the negotiator.
Where do my photos go?+
Photo Studio tools (auto-fix, crop, rotate, background removal) run entirely in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Selby-written listings send the photos you choose to Google Gemini for analysis, either straight from your device with your own key or through our server on hosted plans. Photos and listings are stored on your device (and in your account when you sign in), never sold, never used to train anything.
How good is the background removal without a key?+
It uses an open-source salient-object model (U²-Net-p, Apache-2.0) that runs on-device in about a second. It is excellent on clear product shots and good on busy backgrounds; hair, glass and thin cables can need the feather slider. AI Studio on Pro re-shoots the item with a full image model for the toughest photos.
Can I edit a listing after it is posted?+
Every field, every time: title, price, condition, description, tags, photos (add, remove, reorder, re-edit, change the cover), marketplaces and each marketplace's own version of the copy. Ask Selby to rewrite anything in a friendlier, shorter or more premium tone.
What is Selby allowed to say to buyers?+
Only what you set: it never accepts less than your floor (default 80% of asking) and never reveals it, proposes only your chosen meetup spot and availability, and answers condition questions from the honest notes on the listing. You can read every thread and take over with one tap.
Which marketplaces are supported?+
eBay, Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, Craigslist, Nextdoor, Poshmark, Mercari and Depop today. Selby writes a version for each one's audience and length limits.
Do I need to install anything?+
No. Selby is a web app built for phones and tablets. Open it in Safari or Chrome, tap "Add to Home Screen" and it behaves like an app, with offline access to your listings and cached studio tools.
Can I cancel Pro?+
Any time, from your account. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then drop to Free with all your listings intact.
What if Selby gets my item wrong?+
Add a note before analysis ("it's the 2019 model, missing the remote"), or fix any field afterwards. If Selby has no AI connection it says so loudly and shows labelled sample data instead of pretending.
